My wife and I recently decided to sell our rental property in Rancho Cordova after owning it for more than 20 years. We currently reside in Southern California and we did not wanted to spend any time going back and forth during the selling process so we decided that we would try to do everything online.

Since we did not know any realtors in Sacramento, we decided to do our research online. The two main requirements during this process was that the realtor had experience in Rancho Cordova real estate and that they had a good amount of positive reviews online. We narrowed down our research among five candidates. We interviewed four of them over the phone. The fifth candidate responded to our call after we had made our decision.

During our interview process, I was looking for someone that clearly knew real estate and understood our needs. While all the agents appeared to know the market fairly well, only two candidates seriously considered our needs before proposing their selling strategy. Our goal was to sell the house as quickly as possible and negotiate any repairs needed with the potential buyer(s) to avoid delays and time needed to close the contract.

In addition to our needs, we also had great tenants that have been renting the property for over seven years. We wanted to do well by our tenants while at the same time, sell the property as quickly as possible.

Our final decision was Emily Nelson from Vista Oaks Realty. At first, we did not know what to expect but our concerns dissipated quickly by Emily’s understanding of our needs and her hard work ethic.
